Blizzards Basketball Boys 2004 - Finish season with high note

Attack Basketball League 2017 Finalist

The Blizzards Basketball 2004 Boys end season at the Attack Basketball League 2017 in strong note. Finishing the regular season with 7-1 record in pool of 13 teams finishing second in regular season. Boys had successfully playoff rounds - 1st round winning against Magic Basketball 48-54 with missing key player Daniel Smith due to ankle injury. The semi-finals round against Winnipeg Spirit, a convincing win against old foe, locking down their best players and won the game 60-45 without Daniel and Kurt Jordan played few minutes due to ankle injury as well. The trip to finals facing a familiar opponent Jr. Bison Black with another case of missing player, strong PG Avrin Umali (trip to Philippines) who dominated semis and player of the game. The game started and boys slow start 2-19 first quarter of the game, the intimidation and pressure of the game attribute to slow start. But the presence of head club coach Ruel Maranan, make necessary offense and defense adjustments makes the game more intense and thrilling game, in the last 90 seconds of the game the Blizzards come almost complete a come back only down by 2 points. Eventually the team runout of time, including poor officiating cause the team unwanted turnover and missing possession resulting by losing 7 points only in the game. The game turnout was a successful in favor of the Blizzards team, even without a top prize they know and felt that they could compete at par level with this Jr. Bison team. Looking forward in the encounter.
